The 2007 Arundel Festival will take place between 24 August and 2 September 2007 in the historic town of Arundel.
This year the Festival has again attracted a number of international artists who will be performing in the grounds of Arundel Castle, including Girls Aloud, Jamelia, Shayne Ward, Alison Moyet, Alfie Boe, Natasha Marsh, Lemar, Lucie Silvas and Level 42.
‘The Barber of Seville’ by Rossini will be performed in the Castle’s magnificent Barons’ Hall.
As in previous years talented artists will be performing at various locations around the town as part of Arundel Festival Fringe and Madfest 2007. This includes the popular Gallery and Theatre Trails and Arundel 2007 Festival Music events.
The Duke of Norfolk said, “Last year the whole town came together to put on a new style Arundel Festival which was very well received and reviewed. Arundel welcomed visitors from all over the World – all keen to enjoy and share in the excitement and energy of this wonderful event.
This year we have endeavoured once again to present a wide and varied programme of rousing events and thrilling concerts. Our aims are to bring together our community and to deliver entertainment and an experience that will appeal to people of all ages and musical tastes.”
Ten days of the best music, theatre, art and comedy starts on Friday 24 August 2007 with classical artists Natasha Marsh and Alfie Boe plus 40 piece orchestra and fireworks. Tickets are £35; under-16s, £25. Show starts at 7.30pm. Picnics are allowed.
On Saturday 25 August, Alison Moyet, Lemar, Lucie Silvas and Orchestra will take to the stage at 7.30pm. Tickets are £35; under-16s, £30. Picnics are allowed.
On Sunday 26 August, Level 42 take to the stage. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £27.50; under-16s, £17.50. Picnics are not allowed.
On Monday 27 August, Girls Aloud, Jamelia and Shayne Ward will entertain audiences. Performance starts at 7.30 and tickets are £35; under-16s, £30. Picnics are not allowed.
Theatre is also an important part of the festival programme and on Wednesday 29 August ‘The Barber of Seville’ will be performed in the magnificent Barons’ Hall in Arundel Castle. Performance starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £40.

Notes to Editors
Gates will open at 5.30pm on concert nights. Picnic concerts are on 24 and 25 August and ticket holders will be able to picnic on the lower lawns for the evening concert. A bar and catering will be available.
The 26 and 27 August are non-picnic concerts. For Health & Safety reasons, no picnics, furniture, collapsible chairs, bottles, glasses or cans will be permitted on these nights. A bar and catering will be available.
Arundel Castle is situated in the centre of Arundel (BN18 9AB). There will be free car parking available and there will be signs for the Castle Concerts on the approach to Arundel. The Castle is a 10-minute walk from Arundel Train Station.
Disabled Guests will have designated parking spaces in the car parks and a viewing platform will be provided for wheelchair users. |
