After a very successful 2006 visitor season which included Saturday opening throughout August, The Arundel Castle Trustees have decided, for the first time in its history, to open the Castle to visitors every Saturday from 2007.
From April 2007, visitors who come to Arundel can enjoy not only the historic town, but also a visit to its magnificent Castle, with its ancient keep, historic chapel, stunning library and beautiful gardens.
Many of the popular special events held at the Castle, which show visitors what life was like in medieval times, will continue next year, including the Raven Tor medieval re-enactments and the exciting jousting tournaments held in the grounds of the Castle.
Bryan McDonald, Head of Opening at Arundel Castle, said: ‘We are delighted that Saturday visitors to this fascinating and picturesque town will have the opportunity now to see and experience Arundel’s magnificent Castle and gardens. In 2007 the Castle will be open from Tuesday to Sunday inclusive and closed on Mondays, except Bank Holidays when special events at the Castle are often held.’

Notes to Editors
Throughout the opening season, visitors can enjoy this magnificent Castle which is both ancient Castle and stately home to the Dukes of Norfolk. It is the longest inhabited country house in England with the Dukes of Norfolk and their ancestors having lived there for over 850 years and to this day sumptuous furnishings can be seen inside the Castle.
Homemade lunches, tea and cakes are on offer in the licensed restaurant and the shop has a wide variety of gifts, books and speciality food and drink. Outside there is the chance to enjoy the renovated Victorian gardens and grounds.
