Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice"

 

The Collector Earl's Garden at Arundel Castle in West Sussex makes a magnificent and idyllic setting for open air theatre performances..

On the evenings of Friday 17 & Saturday 18 August 2018, during the Arundel Festival,Illyria theatre group will perform William Shakespeare's Merchant of Venice..

Wealthy Antonio borrows money from Shylock and is so confident about paying it back that he will give Shylock a pound of his flesh if he deafults. What follows in the play is thrilling, funny and romantic.

Entry to open air theatre in the Collector Earl's Garden

 

On foot: via High Street Lodge and follow the signs to The Collector Earl's Garden. (Please note Lower Lodge in Mill Road will not be open).

 

By car: Please follow the signs from London Road to the Arundel Park entrance.

 

Disabled: A designated car parking area and passenger buggy will be available. Please follow the signs from London Road to the Arundel Park entrance.

 

SEATING: Outdoor seating for the audience will be provided. Furniture will not be permitted in The Collector Earl's Garden.

 

PLEASE BRING WARM CLOTHING & WATERPROOFS - EVEN ON THE WARMEST DAYS, IT CAN BECOME QUITE COOL LATER IN THE EVENING.

 

Umbrellas are not permitted during the performance.

 

FOOD & DRINK

 

Gardens open for picnics from 5.30pm. Hog Roast and Hot & Cold Drinks (licensed) available for purchase.

This policy forms part of our terms and conditions.

 

We will make every effort to complete the performance and reserve the right to stop and start the action as necessary. Performances are never cancelled or abandoned before the advertised starting time and then only in the event of very bad weather. Please note that we cannot give refunds for cancellation or abandonment as a result of the weather. Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser for reasons other than the weather (in which case the ticket must be returned to the organiser within 21 days of the due performance date).
