Blind Veterans UK Bowmens' Event (EVENT CANCELLED)
The Blind Veterans UK Bowmen have announced the cancellation of their archery event due to take place at Arundel Castle on Friday 5th June 2026. This is due to current military commitments by the teams and those supporting the teams involved. The event is expected to be postponed until 2027.
The archery event has been running for over 25 years, with the Blind Veterans UK Bowmen taking on teams from the Royal Navy, Royal Army and Royal Air Force in a long-standing competition for the Household Division Cup.
Clive Jones, Chairman of the Blind Veterans UK Bowmen, commented:
“It is with great reluctance that we have had to cancel this year’s event at Arundel Castle. I would like to express thanks to all those involved in organising this event to date, and those who had agreed to sponsor various elements of the day. We very much hope to be able to run the event again next year.”
Blind veterans from across the UK will compete in a prestigious archery competition at Arundel Castle on Friday 5th June 2026, showcasing that sight loss is no barrier to elite sport.
The Blind Veterans UK Bowmen, an archery club supporting blind and visually impaired veterans, will take on teams from the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force in a long-standing competition for the Household Division Cup. The Bowmen are the current holders of the trophy. The British Army normally competes in this event but is unable to attend this year.
The annual event has been running for over 25 years and has previously taken place at some of the UK’s most iconic locations, including Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London and Windsor Castle. This year, the spectacular grounds of Arundel Castle will provide the backdrop for the competition.
