As You Like It
Enjoy Shakespeare’s comedy As You Like It in Arundel Castle's Earl's Garden transformed into a captivating outdoor theatre with the backdrop of the Cathedral. This unique performance is hosted by Illyria¹ and promises to be a highlight of the summer social calendar and coinciding with the start of the Arundel Festival of the Arts.
Join us as four pairs of soulmates meet in the Forest of Arden. One pair leap straight into bed. Another are instantly struck by each other’s beauty. The third torment each other. But the fourth enjoy a courtship that is so witty and playful that Love itself is stretched to the limit.
Performances start at 7.30 pm
Running time (approx): 2hrs 20mins (inc 20 minute interval)

Entry by pre-booked online tickets only Adult £25.00, Child (8-16) £18.00.
Free parking is provided from 5.30pm near the cricket club on London Road, use postcode for satnav BN18 9BA which is London Road and then follow signs (and to Arundel Castle Cricket Club) on the opposite side of the road to St Phillips Primary School.
- Please note, entry is via High Street Gate or Mary Gate. There is no entry through Lower Lodge Gate (Mill Road)
- Gates open at 6.00pm
- Hot and cold drinks, wine and beer will be on sale from 6.00pm.
- Picnics are welcome in part of the grounds (please note the full gardens/grounds are not open on the evenings of the productions)
- We provide seating for the performance. Please note that access to the seating area/auditorium is from 6.45pm (only the grounds available for picnics open at 6.00pm)
- Please bring a warm coat or blanket
- Umbrellas may not be used during the performance.

Tickets are non-transferable.
Only severe thunderstorms will stop the performance and every effort will be made to re-start.
Weather and Refunds Policy:
We will make every effort to complete the performance and reserve the right to stop and start the action as required. Performances are never cancelled or abandoned before the advertised starting time and then only in the event of severe weather. Please note that we cannot give refunds for cancellation or abandonment as a result of weather. Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser for reasons other than the weather.
